    How to obtain a proof of residence in US?

    The certificate of residency in US is issued for the purposes of: regulating pension payments, applying for retirement, submitting a claim for the purchase of an apartment with effective occupancy rights, regulating the military duty and for acquiring the right to custom benefit. To be issued a certificate for the purposes of regulating pension payments, applying for retirement, submitting a claim for the purchase of an apartment with effective occupancy rights and for regulating the military duty the following documents should be submitted:

    -          a copy of the 2nd and 3rd page of a valid BiH passport

    -          a copy of a document proving the date of arrival in US

    -          a copy of a document proving legal residency in US (such as: Landed Immigrant Visa,…)

    -          a copy of the last paid invoice (electricity bill, TV bill, telephone bill etc.)

    To be issued a certificate of residency for the purpose of acquiring the right to custom benefit upon definite return of a person (who resided abroad continually for a minimum period of 12 months or for at least 12 months with interruptions during a period of 4 years) to Bosnia and Herzegovina, it is necessary to submit the following documents:

    -          a copy of the 2nd and 3rd page of a valid BiH passport

    -          a copy of a document proving the date of arrival in US

    -          a copy of a document proving legal residency in US (such as: Landed Immigrant Visa,…)

    -          written proof of the family’s evident intention to return to BiH (which can be one of the following documents: proof of employment in BiH, proof of establishing an enterprise in BiH, office or a handicrafts shop in BiH… copy of a new ID card, certificate of residency in BiH, copy of the residence registration in BiH, proof of lease termination in US, proof of canceling bank accounts in US, proof of a paid invoice for transfer of cargo by container). Duty free goods include: personal property, personal luggage and noncommercial goods (exclusively intended for personal use by the family members or for gifts) that have been used at least six months prior to the return to BiH.
